We are awaiting a press briefing from the Las Vegas Police officials in any minute. But first lets go to our very own hillary vaughn. Charles they are walking out right now. We are on a 20second delay for the live view. Carlos, you ready . All right. Good afternoon, everyone. Im obviously sheriff lombardo, clark county. This will be our fourth Briefing Since the incident took place yesterday evening. Ill give you a short synopsis of our updates, then we have other individuals standing behind me to make comments. So, there is two things we are attempting to achieve. We have to finish processing the scenes. We have three separate scenes, it will be four at this point. We have the 32nd floor of the room at the mandalay bay. We have the event location. The house in mesquite and now we have s. W. A. T. Getting ready to hit the house in northern nevada. At this point we did in the last briefing, i was unable to tell you what we retrieved from the house of mesquite. We retrieved in excess of 18 additional firearms. Some explosives, and several thousand round of ammo along with Electronic Devices we are evaluating at this point. I mention that s. W. A. T. Is about to breach the house up in northern nevada. Then ill give you an update on the casualty numbers. We are standing at 527 for individuals injured and individuals who have died or passed away, 59. We have several people calling about personal items located at the stadium. We are not done processing that scene yet. Once we are done processing the scene, well make arrangements for people that attended the stadium that believe they have personal items there to respond to the area and well help you retrieve your items. At this point i want to bring gregg castle forward from the Fire Department and he will give you an update on the Family Resource center. Its important for and i appreciate you want to go put this out for the peoples families responding to the Las Vegas Area, some local proprietaries have suffered up rooms for the family members at no charge. Thats the boyd group, stations casinos, south point and also siegel sweeps. So one more time, the boyd group, station casinos, south point with mr. Gone and the siegel sweeps. Individuals responding to the Las Vegas Area in need of accommodations, those individual properties will accommodate you. Gregg . My name is gregg castle, chief of the fair department. The Family Assistance Center is set up to provide services for the families that are coming into town or are still here trying to handle what has happened with their loved ones. They are providing all the services to provide flights, housing, food, transportation and many other things. Thats a wonderful thing for our community to have come forward and done. Its pretty much take up the south hall of the Convention Center. There is a dropoff Donation Center for people who want to drop off nonperishable goods. The entrance is off sierra vista west of this Convention Center area command metro center. I would like to that men and women of the Fire Department, the clark county Fire Department, las vegas fire and rescue, and North Las VegasFire Department. We were all teamed up there last night doing what we trained for so many years. We wish it never happened but we had a plan in place. We had 108 firefighters on scene. We have 155 unit hours. We teamed up with our partners from Law Enforcement to reach as many people as we could. I want to take a moment to recognize community ambulance. They were there assed a standby medical. They immediately threw critically ill patients in their ambulances and amr and medic west ambulances. They brought all hands on deck and brought in all their employees from pickup trucks to vans to bring medical supplies down to a staging area to make those resources to our community. City want to give a big how theout to those private ambulance companies. How many ambulances . I could not quantify that. But i have worked here for 30 years and i have never seen as many blantss that it saw last night. Dozens and dozens. A 108 firefighters combined from four Fire Departments. Times of injuries were there that you transported to the hospital . Was it mostly gunshot wounds . Gunshots to shrapnel to trampling injuries. Can you tell us what the staging process is. Some said it took a long time to get into the venue or rescuers to get in. We had multiple branches and divisions set up to cover that large area. I cant speak to how long it took them to get into the venue. We had issues out of the start because we didnt know where the gunfire was what we werent sure sit was safe to commit our people. We know they are going into a dangerous situation thats why we do it in a rescue task force with the Police Departments going into harms way which is something even 10 years ago wouldnt have taken place because we never trained on it. We had no ondoubt injuries of of any our we had no on duty injuries of any Emergency Response personnel from our department. Thank you, gregg. Im the coroner of clark county. I would like to first all ask that everybody keep those involved in this incident in their thoughts and prayers. As well as the First Responders, all Government Agencies and all of us who have come together, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Know we are working hard to make sure we take care of the families involved in this incident. I would like to talk about the Family Assistance Center. We have that set up at the Convention Center. We are fully operational right now. And we have met with multiple families. We are continuing to interview the families. The goal of that center is to provide families information about the identification their loved ones. And as importantly, to collect information from them so we can make the identifications as fast as possible. We are working very hard at make those identifications out of respect for the families. I would rather not go into the details of the injuries at this point. [inaudible] many body [inaudible] we are about as equipped as anybody in the country. I dont know anybody can be fully equipped to handle this. But we have gotten support through grant money and our county commission through the years. Weve trained and exersides and we are putting that training and exercise . Place right now. Our Fire Departments and Police Departments are doing a good job, all things considered. Do you have enough space at the Coroners Office . We do have enough face now, yes. As of right now all of the confirmed fat alternates have been recovered, and they have been transported to our office, yes. Does that include the shooter, the 59 . I believe that includes the short. But that number could be fluid. With that number unfortunately may go up and i dont want to give an exact number and confirmation at this point. It does not include the short. Thank you, shaffer. We are handle is as good as could be expected. Everybody in this room and everybody in our county is suffering as a result of this tragic incident. I appreciate you asking and we are handling it well and our staff is doing a good job of managing it. Are you able to assess the types of injuries that led to these deaths . Were they all by gunshot . Chief castle spoke about the injuries. The families want answers, and i prefer out of respect to them to give them the answers before we make those public. So im not going to answer that at this time, ken, thank you. Thank you very much for your time. Thank you once again for being here and spreading this community to our community. City want to reiterate what i said earlier. A special shoutout to the sheriff and chief castle and our men and women and First Responders. When you see one of these men and women in their uniforms, please tell them thank you. They went in when everybody was running out. But for the fact of their selfless actions we would have hundreds more casualties than what we are facing. The crime scene is horrific and these folks did an incredible job. Went above and beyond. I want to assure everyone its under control. Las vegas is a safe place to be. Its a safe place to visit. We encourage people to come here. We have been deluged with donations, blankets, food and water. Its almost as if we cant handle any more donations at Convention Center. After we put out a call for blood, we have a 6 to 8shower wait at our blood centers. Appointments are being made for thursday and friday. We set up a gofundme account because we thought we could ask some of these victims with funeral and travel expenses. We have over 500 emergency rooms. We started a gofundme account and it has contributions in excess of 2. 4 million. The hate that this one individual, this sloan wolf rained down on our community was met by an outpouring of love by our entire community. Well get through this together and get through it as one community. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families. Thank you very much, im dina titus, i represent nevadas First District which includes the Las Vegas Strip and the scene of this horrendous act. So many times i have welcomed people las vegas. I never imagined i would be standing here trying to offer solace and service to those who would be harmed or killed by such an act. My office is serving as a clearing house. We dont want to get in the way of the wonderful Law Enforcement and First Responders who have done such a good job. We have gotten many phone calls from people across the country looking to find out where their folks are. We are trying to pass that information on to the appropriate place. A couple immigration calls we are trying to help with as well. In addition to services that have been mentioned. Thomas and mac opened up as a temporary location for people put out of their hotel rooms. The School District offered their counselors to the public. Airbnb offered their facilities. The community is stepping up. We heard acts of heroism. Pointing out where they thought the shots were coming from. A friend of one of my Staff Members was being trampled. They were running out. Somebody grabbed and pulled them into the house just to be safe. A car slowed down and said where can we go to give blood. Las vegas is resilient. With everybody pulling through this well get through this. The medical personnel taking care of people in the parking lots of hospitals. I represent nevadas Third District just outside the Las Vegas Strip. I reiterate what everyone said here. Our First Responders, our hospital staff, our hotel staff, firefighters, ambulance, police. And i stand but not just as a congresswoman, but as a mother, daughter, sister, friend, and a member of this community. We are a strong community. We know how to fight and be resilient and pull together. Well come together with our community partners, airbnb, lift and uber and taxi drivers. Well move forward and well do it in strength. Appreciate everybodys support that helped us. Again, thank you. Not a lot to add to what has been said. What i do want to add is well never forget october 1, 2017 will be a day to remember here in las vegas. Its a day well remember for years to come as we remember and think about how dangerous this world can be. Im grateful to the Sheriffs Department and all the First Responders for everything they have done. The number of phone calls we received, the condolences that are flowing into this community is second to none. I want to thank our whole congressional delegation for working together, linking arms and trying to move this community forward. Nevada is strong. Nevada will remain strong. Well get through this working together. Thank you. Carolyn goodman, the mayor of the great city of las vegas. The help has not only come from around this country, but also from abroad. We want to thank all of the Law Enforcement and First Responders that have come in from other parts of the state as well as los angeles. The number of people that have come and gotten in line to give blood has become an issue we are going to learn from. We havent been able to keep up with it. People are frustrated. They love this community and love what it represents. And they want to do something about it. Its been incredible. To learn this fund the sheriff set up is over a million dollars. You can feel the heartbeat of the people that call las vegas and nevada home. Most of especially in talking and i spent last night at the hospital in umc and at valley to talk to some of those who were less seriously injured, how confused they were about the issue. When you go to an Outdoor Entertainment and even the inner side, you are usually given a bracelet. Identification. Because they were up front and in a confined environment, the places to get out were less open to them. But the sound and talking to the patients, hearing different sounds because they are thinking its fireworks or part of the technology of the music thats being played, they could tell me they were thinking it was coming from different areas. The fact that our First Responders and Law Enforcement acted so quickly and so professionally and attended to the need right then and there and were able to get up to mandalay bay in four minutes is an incredible feat. It saved thousands of lives. We had 22,000 people there in a small area. Its amazing how efficiently Law Enforcement and First Responders worked. Our president called me on my cell phone and spoke with the shaffer and the attorney general with whom i was speaking, and whatever he could provide, and he is coming out here. The question is what can be done. People are asking, emails are coming, phone calls are coming and im sure everyone standing here has received them. This is a Remarkable Community of people who are involved who do care. This heinous crime, this maniac could do such destruction to so many people. We even lost one of our members at city hall. Its a very difficult time. While the sun is shining in las vegas, its a dark and black day. As im sure that was said, october 1, 2017 will be one of the darkest days ever and hopefully never again. Thank you. Thank you, sheriff, and thank you Law Enforcement and First Responders. Simply unbelievable. At 5 00 at city hall will be the first of im sure several vigils. 5 00 city hall. Pastor troy will be leading that. This is a loving and Caring Community and im proud to be its mayor. Im Mark Hutchinson the Lieutenant Governor of the great state of nevada. The governor was here earlier and said this has been our finest hour as a state its been our finest hour as a city and among our finest hours as americans. If you were taken into umc Medical Center and you were alive, you are still alive today. You are still alive at this hour. The amount of skill and professionalism that was shown by those doctors and nurses and medical professionals is extraordinary. The same is true if you werent to Spring Valley hospital. If you were alive, you are still alive. Could not be prouder of those men and women who saved so many lives in las vegas today and saved so many lives in las vegas last night. As i went into these hospital rooms throughout the day, my friends and colleagues behind me me, they heard the same stories that i did. The heroic efforts of ordinary people from all over this country. Ill tell you how personality is. I just came from Spring Valley hospital. And karen was injured seriously and was carried away from the scene, and she said if i ever had a chance to thank this individual she said i would thank him. His name is sean topper. She said that he was her Guardian Angel that day. We saw and heard story after story like this. Ordinary americans helping other ordinary americans its a great day for america and a sad day for las vegas, my hometown. Tragedy beyond words. But this is a day when americans helped americans make it through the night. I say god bless them all. Thank you. Did you tell us everyone who went to those hospitals, none of them died at the hospital . When i was at umc today ski was told by the trauma surgeons that everyone who made it into umc alive is still alive. There are those that were not alive when they arrived. That was the information i got. And wanted to make the point that there was extraordinary still shown by the medical professionals at umc. Did anybody go to hospitals out of the state . We had one individual to the best of my recollection in california. I want to thank everybody for coming. One more clarification. Besides the vigil at city hall there is an adays vigil at 5 00 p. M. At Guardian Angel cathedral adjacent to the encore hotel. Im glad to answer questions. Have you found a hah manifesto . We havent
