From what we know about this you be stable murderer. He had his own tragedy mud yig up a damaged brain by losing both adoptive parents in short order. But he didnt brood in secretive silence about his dark intentions. And we hurt for the entire community of parkland, florida that is now in shock and pain and searching for answers. They said they did a search for this kid after seeing a screen shot from a youtube posting. We note cap it built of the fbi. If they want to find someone, they can find someone. If they want to find the digital footprint of this guy they have the tools to do that. From what i heard, they had a first and last name and they did their data base checks and he didnt pop in the data bases so i they moved on. They could have done court orders to see who had that Instagram Account or that handle. But the thousands and thousands of leads they get of this nature. That was one aspect of this case where there could have been an intervention and there are many others. Kennedy when we hear about these atrocities and Mass Shootings oftentimes from San Bernardino to orlando and now in parkland, florida, you have someone who is on the fbi radar. The kids were joking about that he was going to come back to school and shoot the place up. This is as serious as any incident we have seen in this country. If you alert the fbi, and the school knows, what else can we do as parents to know that our kid are safe from sickos like this . This is Risk Management in the school systems. And there are a lot of factors at play here. They should have a threat or Risk Assessment team. When someone has been expelled. And we know it takes a lot to get expelled from schools. No child left behind. There is a lot of things that have to happen before you can get yourself expelled. There has to be a long history there that they could have examined. And maybe they did. Then a thream have to look at that and take action. With all the red flagging twhrawrntion were. You would be hard put to find a case with more red flagging warnings. They could have got and restraining order. With all due respect, someone who is going to inflict as much carnage and murder as many people as possible, a restraining order wont do much. We have to talk about this level of mental illness. Obviously this an individual who was clearly disturbed. He was posting pictures of himself with guns and killing police and trying to get around background checks. How red do the flags have to be . And what can you do . You pass a back ground check and if you dont hav have a psychological profile and you dont have a criminal history. I dont understand how background checks are supposed to be the stop gap when there are so many steps athread of this where you think he should be treated. The National Insta check system has huge gaps on the Mental Health aspect. You have to get involuntarily committed to a Mental Health hospital. Most of of the time even when it happens, its not reported. The system is broken.
