This was how sharpton responded earlier today. I marched on him with central park five. I dealt with him on the birther issue. He can say what he wants. Call me a troublemaker. He tries to get them a Second Chance. He is perfectly aligned with the president s agenda. President is doing criminal justice reform, yet he is willing to do more, he is so wrapped up in the bad talk of the president. Baltimore is a huge opportunity zone. Charles already we see it signs of it working. President trump will never get credit. No, i dont know any network really tacked about those 3100 men who left those prisons, the vast majority of them black men who thought they would be in prison, another 10, 20, 30 years. Yet theyre home planning for their future with their families. Absolutely f we can work on the Second Chance opportunity that many members of the black caucus on the democratic side have championed, we can in fact offer opportunities for real jobs people who put their put their criminal activity behind them and want a Second Chance. Having said that, this president has made it clear, he will not negotiate most of the legislation they want, as long as they will try to impeach him or claim to impeach him. The reality, nancy pelosi knows if she loses 17 seats of moderate democrats, exactly people aoc wants to take out, she loses her speakership. Charles that is not looking like it will happen. I think it is beginning to materialize. There are 31 seats held by democrats where trump won. Reality is, trumps popularity is rising. That means he is very possibly going to have coattails. Charles lose them to trump, not to the aoc wing . Well, aoc will pick off a couple, pick off a couple in the primary. One of the odd things, if she picks them off in the primary, theyre safe seat, fine f she peeks off a swing, guess what . They tend to exaggerate how much Political Tension is going on instead of seeing the basic functionings of the government, i remember during watergate, 73, 74, chinese reached conclusion president nixon was crippled couldnt do anything. They saw kissinger taking a lot of actions. Were seeing same thing now. The Party Leadership will watch the pare debates, charles, to see if anybody says anything tough about china. Charles if they had done their due diligence, they should know this guy knows what he is doing, he knows how to paper them, he will not fold, if not tougher than President Trump when it comes to this. Having said that, expectations are low. What should we anticipate out of this . What could be a sign at least progress is being made . Could it be a huge agriculture deal . Could there be some sort of a sign we have progress, lets look forward to the next round of meetings . Good question, charles. The most important sign would be continued secrecy about the talks. If the american side crows or triumphant, says the chinese caved here in shanghai today and tells the media that, that will really set back progress. If american side continues secrecy of the deliberations, and lets the chinese save face, make serious concessions get back to where we were may 1st. The big issue right now is enforcement. The chinese dont like to talk about that. It embarrassing them that they have to submit to enforcement mechanism, they claim america is a declining power. If they were on the way down, that it cant be reversed. Why should they submit to Enforcement Mechanisms for a weak power. What they have to come around too, maybe were not declining all that fast. Certainly not under President Trump. Charles not only that, the Economic Data, even this morning Economic Data out of china was another major disappointment and a negative number. On that score, im glad you brought this up. I said with the Trump Administration, too many people are talking to the public about the china trade deal. Honestly i love wilbur ross, i dont want to hear from him when it comes to china trade. I love larry kudlow, i dont want to hear him talk about china trade. If it is not coming from the mnuchin or lighthizer let them continue to negotiate. Everyone would understand that there is progress being made . I think the president s tweets an comment to the press are extremely helpful. He knows how to explain progress. In some sense he often provides incentives to his friend president xi to do the right thing. The president has been very, very clever. Chinese tell me this themselves. President trump is very clever not to blame the intellectual property theft, the tech transfer problems, the deficit, he never blames it on his friend president xi.
