11. 5 . That in turn is turning the stock herd to one particular investment. We are tracking all the action in this final hour of trade as President Trump prepares to face reporters in about 30 minutes from now alongside his polish counterpart. The two at this hour are behind closed doors, surely discussing reports that europe may ban travelers coming from america when its own borders reopen. Will that spark a new trade tiff . We will bring you the meeting live as soon as it happens. Plus we have a tesla mystery. Team countdown drone patrol capturing these images of a huge unmarked lot on long island that is teeming with what looks to be shiny brand new teslas. While we are still weight on at thes tesla to reply to our inquiry, we are trying to find out exactly whats really going on behind the curtain at the ev giant. What the latest images on the side of your screen are now saying about elon musks empire postcovid19. A dose of reality hitting one of facebooks Virtual Reality goggle designs. As mlb marks the restart of baseball season, we have the list of baseball stocks. Lets count the clock here. 59 minutes before the closing bell rings. We are starting the claman countdown. We are focusing right now with that flight to quality trade and it appears as the dow drops, check it, 674 points right now, the safe haven choice appears to be not gold, but government treasuries. Look at the tenyear yield. Its now at. 69 . It has dropped from what was this morning a yield of. 72 . So the lower the yield goes, the more fear is coming into that trade. Now, we flip it over to gold which oddly has lately moved in lockstep with stocks, meaning when stocks go higher, golds gone higher. Kind of weird. Normally, people leave stocks and go to gold. Gold is actually falling about 7. 90 a troy ounce but look at this price. At 1774 an ounce, still hovering around an eightyear low for gold. All right. Youve got to stay with us. We are going to get you through this hour. We will start with some major stock stories. Some are popping and some are dropping in this final hour but lets be clear, all areas of the travel sector are getting hammered on this worry about new, you know, quarantines and, you know, you did it to me and ill do it to you kind of thing when it comes to europe. Global Airline Majors to the european carriers are losing altitude at this hour. They were already floundering on word the European Union diplomats are today convening to consider blocking all visitors from the u. S. Due to the sudden spike in coronavirus infections. Then Airline Stocks got a second slam. These are european carriers. You can see the parent of british airways, the top one there, International Consumer airlines, down 7. 8 . Ryan air out of ireland down 5. 8 . But three hours ago, new york, new jersey and connecticut issued quarantine orders for visitors coming from states that are seeing an alarming new rise in covid cases. We are talking about alabama, arkansas, arizona, florida, north and south carolina, washington, texas and utah. So that certainly forced the markets to take another leg down. Lets get to electric vehicle makers. They are on the move. Chinese ev star neo is dropping about 4. 5 after Goldman Sachs reversed its recent bull call and cut the stock to neutral citing valuation concerns, because you know, its gained about 72 monthtodate. Forget quartertodate. Nikola is also under pressure as the allelectric stock truck space gets busier. We do have nikola down 1. 7 . The newest entrant is a truck called the endurance out of lordstown motors. Plus jpmorgan initiated nikola out of neutral which is basically analysts versions of meh. Check out the pop in that bottom stock. Workhorse. Its up 28 right now. These are the guys who make electric vans for last mile deliveries, next gen van just passed federal safety tests. Word is ups and the Postal Service are likely customers. Year to date that stock is up 130 . Facebooks stock is down right now after the social media giant managed to annoy both activists and gamers at the same time. To the gamers piece of this. Facebook is down 3. 6 . Facebook announced its oculus go Virtual Reality headset is now not at a go, its a full stop. Facebook will discontinue the lower priced device which used 3dof, three degrees of freedom. It measures the rotation of a users head versus the model fb is keeping, the quest version, which offers 50os. Six degrees of freedom. Thats the full rotation including pitch, yaw and roll. I sound like a pilot here. Quest is triwice the price as t one they are letting go of. As for the activists, add ben jerrys to a group of activists boycotting advertising on facebook and instagram, saying they do not do enough to remove hate speech on its platforms. Those are our pop and drop stocks. Speaking of gaming, a big hit during lockdowns. Well, time to check if the stayathome trade is hot again with all this breaking news regarding new covid spikes and the travel shutdowns. Lets check the performance of the allstars. Quartertodate, zoom is up 70 . Peloton is up 100 . Cloud computing specialist fastly is up 278 . With nothing to do, folks have in the past, over the past three months, been glued to their playstations and video games but as you check sony, we are talking about these over the past three, four months here, sony up 19 , ea, Electronic Arts up 30 , nintendo, maker of the switch which got superpopular during the lockdowns, is up 16. 7 . Lets look at couch space names with the gamers. Folks watching telly all day. The streamers, netflix, apple, disney all up, as you can see, anywhere from apple being up 41 to netflix up 22 . But there are so many other stayathome favorites that people thought would probably die down or get a sale call on. We bring in our floor show traders. Does today change everything . To phil flynn first. Does it, and please tell us what your trades are right now in this space. You know, i think obviously we are going to see a correction because of this but no, i dont think anythings changed. I still believe even with the uptick in the coronavirus, we are still on the road to recovery. But having said that, these stayathome stocks are still going to continue to do great, right . We are already seeing that today and thats the play. We dont know the netflix names, we all know the names we have been talking about that you mentioned, but some of the ones you really havent been watching that have really performed almost as well, if not a little better, splunk, for example. I love that name. Dont you . Splunk. Its done fantastic. Yes, it of course basically uses a lot of the Cloud Technology to handle a lot of these athome stocks. That stock has done tremendous. The other one is in chicago, we would never do this, but dominoes pizza. If you are sick and tired of cooking, dominoes delivers. In chicago, we dont do that flat stuff. We do real pizza. But a lot of people like that stuff. Liz splunk. Spelunking is something i get nervous in tight spaces, i would not be doing that with the cave exploration, teddy. Give me your names and what you see a day like this doing to what had been some real optimism about reopening. Well, i think, yes, we have had a market thats climbed a wall of worry and there have been plenty of things to worry about and there are still a lot of things to worry about. We dont know what tomorrow brings but certainly today, the weight of all the worries clearly is weighing heavy on the market. I tend to look beyond the stocks that are kind of the du jour stocks of the moment to a couple more stable names. But i would agree, if you want stocks to take advantage, you know, of the stayathome trend, i mean, you have to look at Delivery Companies like fed ex, ups, and perhaps walmart. But i prefer to look at stocks like bristolmyers because i try to look beyond the current favorites to where we are going to be a year, two years and three years from now. I take a much longer term view of things. But clearly, fed ex, ups, perhaps walmart, you know, they are right where you want to be at the moment. Liz yeah. I would think. Boy, how many of us have had to break down the cardboard at the end of every week with all of the deliveries. Gentlemen, thank you very much. Phil, i just want a quick question about gold. Why is gold moving lower on a day where you would see that flight to quality . You know, we have broken out and saw gold at the highest level, what, in 12 years yesterday. But this is a general riskon play. You will see this a lot. When everybody starts selling everything, gold sometimes gets caught up in the mess. But if you want to be long on gold, wait a little bit because when the market turns, gold should lead the way back up. Liz yeah. Gold has been very interesting and to see it near 1800 would be a nineyear high. Gentlemen, thank you. Great to see you. Dont go too far from your skype cameras because we have a lot of action here. Dow jones industrials down 2. 5 or a loss of 655 points. I remind you, the low of the session is a loss of 859 points for the dow. Weve got the closing bell ringing in about 49 and a half minutes. Every minute will count on a day like today. Speaking of every minute, its a bird, its a plane, no, its a satellite. [ applause and band playing ] only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liz all right. So walkdowns are very much a part of todays news. Are they going to be reimposed. During the first round of stateimposed lockdowns, no car Company Launched a more public fight to reopen than tesla. Now, while as you can see the stock has now recovered and is up about 75 since the first confirmed u. S. Covid case back in january, ceo elon musk was so frustrated that he threatened to move his electric vehicle plant out of california, because california was dragging its feet on letting him reopen. Well, we now have visuals of the dramatic production freeze that tesla endured. Rs metrics is a company that takes satellite and Drone Imagery to help Institutional Investors see how busy a companys operations are. What youre looking at on the left is january 14th, this is the employee parking lot at Teslas Fremont plant. See all the red . Those are employees cars. Nearly 3700 cars captured preoutbreak. In march, thats the middle one, it drops to 799 cars. But by april, thats the far right one, down to just 480 cars. But images of teslas finished car lot, where they put all the new cars, are even more stunning. Midjanuary, a booming, this is on the left, a booming 779 new cars were ready to go. That number fell to, by march, about 250 cars and by april, a stunning plummet to just 159 new teslas in that lot. Tom diamond is president of rs metrics, the Company Behind those images, and behind some new alarming ones from wuhan, which appear to show the Virus Outbreak started kind of well before china said it did. Tom, lets start with the wuhan images. We will get to tesla in a second. What have your images turned up and what are you deducing from those images now . Well, we measure hospital traffic for almost ten years. A lot of it is for hedge funds looking at tenet in the u. S. To forecast price, we also do hospital traffic for epidemiology and virology and studies in latin america, argentina, chile, to see hospital trends rise right before outbreaks. In wuhan we saw something similar using the same global methodology that we use. We look at hospitals all over the world and have for a long long time. In wuhan, it wasnt a surprise, just before, you know, the public really knew or released the official numbers, hospitals were already filling up and we see that everywhere. If you look, one of the images i think you are showing is october 2018, you know, the hospitals, and you can flip to the next one, you can see an increase in cars there. Liz hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Thats 2018. So you can see its kind of sparse. Now please lets flip to 2019 of the exact same lot and this is wuhan hospital, and its starting to fill up. This is october. Yeah. And you know, if you look at a time series chart of that hospital and others there, the six total we looked at, they follow a similar pattern. Its something we have seen for a lot of the other locations we have seen before. So again, it wasnt too surprising to us, but you know, to others that, you know, it looks like it did start a little earlier than people thought. And you know, now that liz let me just interrupt you here. Let me just say that china had indicated that it began in december, but youve got another hospital here, the hospital at wuhan university, thats showing the same thing, 2018 and then we can flip over to the hospital from 2019 and its starting to f fill up. Again, this is october. So they kind of must have seen something, right . Yes. And just to be fair to everybody, even in the u. S. , where theres a lot of data, sharing of information, there still is a delay before hospital traffic fills up and people realize theres some kind of health issue. Doesnt have to be a virus. It can be anything. The reason is, you know, the number of cases at a hospital is different than the number of cars in the parking lot. Cars in the parking lot is activity. Theres doctors, nurses, emergency vehicles, patients, and that is really the signal ahead of these outbreaks. Liz all right. You are also tracking some medical centers in arizona. Tell us what we are going to see here when it comes to the arizona hospital. I think the two examples you have there are valleywise and banner thunderbird. They are two bigger hospitals in Maricopa County which has most of the covid cases now. Its another example, exact same methodology, we just track the number of vehicles at these hospitals. The increases you are seeing there, if you are looking at the images we are showing here are all from this year. In arizona, the most recent outbreak really happened at the end of may and early june, and i think i dont see right now but one of the images is from april of this year and the other is from june this year. You can see its about a 20 increase in cars. Liz this is june. Yes. Liz yeah. Yeah. I see that. Yeah. The other one, banner thunderbird, very similar. We see the same thing at the other area hospitals there. Also in washington state, we have data on the va puget sound hospital which is also showing an increase, kind of before everybody knew things were happening in washington. Its just the point is at one hospital, this is maybe not such a signal but when you start to see 20 hospitals around you all showing 15 , 20 , 30 growth, that is an obvious trend. Liz yeah. I want to just get to tesla before we go. The tesla new cars, that lot, those pictures were really stunning to me because you start to see an almost immediate emptying out because they had transported out the new ones and there were no Assembly Lines working, so we can show you those and they begin as i have my papers here, we start to see the actual production in january where it was pretty jampacked on the far left. There it is. Look at all those yellow dots. Those are brand new cars. Then it really goes down from 779 new ones to 159. We had a drone that went over a lot in tesla lot at teslas in this unmarked area in long island. What do you glean from a parking lot . Well, our metrics is measuring Teslas Fremont plant since 2014 or 15 when it first ramped up and took over from toyota. In the early days, the question about tesla was number one, is there demand and number two, can they meet the demand with production and deliveries. That is why we did a lot of work around tesla for hedge funds and others. That slowed down for us because last year, tesla started doing better with their production, they Beat EstimatesFourth Quarter last year, but covid has started all up again, and now the issue is can they meet their production targets again and deliveries. You know, a parking lot, the images you see there, all the yellow cars are mixed together but we actually differentiate the model s, x, 3, y and show those individually as well, and you can see liz you can seen do that. Yeah. What you see is all the, you know, the data that rs metrics provides, it provides a signal. You can use it to try to forecast an exact number but its more about a signal about where its headed, so you
