Officers in portland say they were hit with large projectiles, flashed with lasers before they then used tear gas and rubber bullets to break up the crowd last night. The Justice Department today announced the arrest of 18 rioters this week. They now face federal charges. And the administration of justice, the federal courthouse, will be allowed to fall under siege, and thats whats happening right now in portland. Hundreds of protesters surrounded her house demanding she defund the Chicago Police department. Mayor lightfoot tried to placate the rabid crowd. She then went and ordered the removal of two Christopher Columbus statues in the city. One of them was taken down in grant park, the site of the ambush on Police Officers last week, an attack in which 49 Police Officers were injured. The white house today calling out the radical dem leaders of many of americas largest cities for the recent spike in crime, their failures to even try to deal with the problem, to preserve law and order in their communities and their endless efforts to undermine the policies and the efforts of the Trump Administration to make the country a safer place. We saw with, under president obama, Violent Crime started to pick up, started to come down you should this president. He was for law and order x. This president is looking at this in a saving lives lens. Hes very keen on seeing the violence in our streets end. Are we at the point where you have to have officers and agents ready to go because so many of these democratrun cities are actually encouraging the lawlessness, the violence of the activists and the radical left anarchists . Lou, youre absolutely right. And i can tell you, dhs is, cbp, we stand ready and stand committed. If anybody, any criminal, any anarchist in any city we have actual critical intelligence theyre going to attack a federal courthouse, the seat of american justice and harm federal agents inside, absolutely, were going to be ready to go. I dont want to get boo operational details, but i could tell you, lou, we already have deployment teams ready to go anywhere theyre needed. And as the acting commissioner, im going to support that every single time. Lou the secretary of dhs saying to jenny durkan that that theyre going to stay, that theyre going to stay, federal agents are going to stay in portland and seattle. And the reaction of wheeler in portland and durkan in seattle despite all the violence, all the vandalism, all the looting and just the attack on innocent citizens, they are saying that the problem is the Law Enforcement officers that youre sending in to establish law and order. I mean, how do you react to that kind of ignorance . It lou, i was just thinking the same word, its ig e significant. Its outrageous. And ive got to believe that most American People, they see right through that. These are criminals that every night are organizing, planning and coordinating to intentionally destroy federal property and seriously arm injure federal armed agents that are inside. That is absolutely ridiculous for that mayor to say that. And it even goes further. The City Councils actually passed a resolution that they forbid local Law Enforcement to share information and intelligence with the federal agents to be include acts and threats against life. That just came out. Lou incredible. That is outrageous. Its incredible, lou. Lou and who, you know, and we dont even know who the leaders of these organizations are. Im speaking for the news media, the people of this country. Black lives matter is getting a lot of support. Its a marxist organization. Do you have current intelligence on their activities that well, that you could share with the public . Also with Corporate America which in some instances is trying to support them . What i can tell you is two things are going on. One the fbi, under the department of justice, theyre actively investigating this, these individuals. And in addition to that, what we have is every night theyre coming together and theyre loosely organized. Theyre meeting every single night, and thats when theyre getting together to plan. What we also know that i can tell you, lou, is just recently we have more information that on social media theyre coordinating. Theyre actually putting out information about how to defeat [inaudible] thats going out there, what they should wear, helmets, shields and etc. They are absolutely coordinating. Every single night theyre bringing weapons, weapons to the facility to intentionally lou, their intent to burn down that federal courthouse, thats their desire. Lou and the 18 people who have been arrested, we now know that the doj inspector generals going to be investigating some of your officers, any federal agent there instead of investigating those who are carrying out this violence and provoking and leading this civil unrest. I mean [inaudible conversations] how do you and your officers react to it . So it is the irony there is palpable, right . But, hey, look, we welcome the investigation. Thats part of the transparency e and accountability for Law Enforcement professionals. And they are professionals, lou. The information and intelligence that i know, these officers acted absolutely in accordance with policy and law. I have no worry about those investigations. But, lou, youre right. Instead the mayors asking Law Enforcement agents to go home when he should be asking the criminals to go home. Its outrageous. Lou they should be asking they should be telling to get the hell out, and they should be stopping it, local Law Enforcement and leadership in the cities. And if the Justice Departments going to investigate officers on the scene trying to establish law and order, you would think they might just want to investigate these organizations that are carrying out all of this violence. And its obviously an orchestrated effort to destroy federal property. Their aims are a lot larger than seattle or portland. Oh, absolutely, lou. Youre absolutely spot on. And here, look, if local Law Enforcement, if they would unhandcuff local are Law Enforcement and let them do what they know how to do, this would end overnight. But its the mayor and the local leadership in portland that is handcuffing them. Thats why this violence is continuing. And, hugh are, its a matter of time lou, its a matter of time. Weve already had several agents injured. Were going to see someone seriously hurt, and ill tell you what, the mayor and local leadership are going to have to answer for that. Lou are you satisfied with your rules of engagement with these mobs in because we dont want any of those we dont want anyone hurt, but we sure dont want those Law Enforcement officers who are trying to preserve life and property to be injured. Are your rules of engagement Strong Enough to protect your force . Lou, on the federal side they are. Of ill give you an example. Just, i think it just happened today, again, local leadership told the Portland Police that they could not use less than lethal riot control devices any longer. The ones that we as a federal agency not only do i allow, but i authorize and support them to use every single day, and they are to safeguard that federal property and themselves. But its outlandish e. The tools are being taken away from local Law Enforcement to do their job with. It its unbelievable, lou. Lou yeah. Well, there should be a Justice Department investigate of the City Government of seattle, without question, and portland. Its outrageous, the risks that they are raising for those Law Enforcement officers and for the community. Outrageous.
