Inslee both oppose the idea of federal Law Enforcement officers. They apparently oppose law and order period. Instead, declaring that the feds arrival in the seattle area is undermining public safety. If you can imagine. In portland, oregon, federal officers there pushed back a violent mob made up of some 2,000 anarchists and leftwing activists trying to burn down the federal courthouse. The nowrushal wissic richal listic chaos unfolding for a 57th consecutive night, and according to the leaders of the anarchists and activists, they dont intend to stop. Officers in portland say they were hit with large projectiles, flashed with lasers before they then used tear gas and rubber bullets to break up the crowd last night. The Justice Department today announced the arrest of 18 rioters this week. They now face federal charges. Senior adviser to President Trump Steven Miller says President Trump will not stand for the radical lefts efforts to destroy the rule of law. Heres how he describes a whats been happening in portland. The Democratic Party for a long time, historically, has been the party of she e session. What youre seeing today is the Democratic Party returning to its roots. These are mayors and governors that are saying the federal law, the u. S. Constitution doesnt apply within the confines of our city, and our citizens will be held at the mercy of the mob. And the administration of justice, the federal courthouse, will be allowed to fall under siege, and thats whats happening right now in portland. Lou and portland is now a city governed by just sheer ignorance. In chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot also under attack for the very mob that she has been defending for weeks. Hundreds of protesters surrounded her house demanding she defund the Chicago Police department. Mayor lightfoot tried to placate the rabid crowd. She then went and ordered the removal of two Christopher Columbus statues in the city. One of them was taken down in grant park, the site of the ambush on Police Officers last week, an attack in which 49 Police Officers were injured. The white house today calling out the radical dem leaders of many of americas largest cities for the recent spike in crime, their failures to even try to deal with the problem, to preserve law and order in their communities and their endless efforts to undermine the policies and the efforts of the Trump Administration to make the country a safer place. We saw with, under president obama, Violent Crime started to pick up, started to come down you should this president. He was for law and order x. This president is looking at this in a saving lives lens. Hes very keen on seeing the violence in our streets end. He wants to protect the people of this country when derelict democrat mayors and governors do not. Lou joining us tonight is customs, Border Protection commissioner mark morgan. Mark, good to have you with us. It is a sad and sorry moment in our history when federal officers and agents have to be sent in to these democratrun cities to establish law and order. Are we at the point where you have to have officers and agents ready to go because so many of these democratrun cities are actually encouraging the lawlessness, the violence of the activists and the radical left anarchists . Lou, youre absolutely right. And i can tell you, dhs is, cbp, we stand ready and stand committed. If anybody, any criminal, any anarchist in any city we have actual critical intelligence theyre going to attack a federal courthouse, the seat of american justice and harm federal agents inside, absolutely, were going to be ready to go. I dont want to get boo operational details, but i could tell you, lou, we already have deployment teams ready to go anywhere theyre needed. And as the acting commissioner, im going to support that every single time. Lou the secretary of dhs saying to jenny durkan that that theyre going to stay, that theyre going to stay, federal agents are going to stay in portland and seattle. And the reaction of wheeler in portland and durkan in seattle despite all the violence, all the vandalism, all the looting and just the attack on innocent citizens, they are saying that the problem is the Law Enforcement officers that youre sending in to establish law and order. I mean, how do you react to that kind of ignorance . It lou, i was just thinking the same word, its ig e significant. Its outrageous. And ive got to believe that most American People, they see right through that. These are criminals that every night are organizing, planning and coordinating to intentionally destroy federal property and seriously arm injure federal armed agents that are inside. That is absolutely ridiculous for that mayor to say that. And it even goes further. The City Councils actually passed a resolution that they forbid local Law Enforcement to share information and intelligence with the federal agents to be include acts and threats against life. That just came out. Lou incredible. That is outrageous. Its incredible, lou. Lou and who, you know, and we dont even know who the leaders of these organizations are. Im speaking for the news media, the people of this country. Black lives matter is getting a lot of support. Its a marxist organization. Do you have current intelligence on their activities that well, that you could share with the public . Also with Corporate America which in some instances is trying to support them . What i can tell you is two things are going on. One the fbi, under the department of justice, theyre actively investigating this, these individuals. And in addition to that, what we have is every night theyre coming together and theyre loosely organized. Theyre meeting every single night, and thats when theyre getting together to plan. What we also know that i can tell you, lou, is just recently we have more information that on social media theyre coordinating. Theyre actually putting out information about how to defeat [inaudible] thats going out there, what they should wear, helmets, shields and etc. They are absolutely coordinating. Every single night theyre bringing weapons, weapons to the facility to intentionally lou, their intent to burn down that federal courthouse, thats their desire. Lou and the 18 people who have been arrested, we now know that the doj inspector generals going to be investigating some of your officers, any federal agent there instead of investigating those who are carrying out this violence and provoking and leading this civil unrest. I mean [inaudible conversations] how do you and your officers react to it . So it is the irony there is palpable, right . But, hey, look, we welcome the investigation. Thats part of the transparency e and accountability for Law Enforcement professionals. And they are professionals, lou. The information and intelligence that i know, these officers acted absolutely in accordance with policy and law. I have no worry about those investigations. But, lou, youre right. Instead the mayors asking Law Enforcement agents to go home when he should be asking the criminals to go home. Its outrageous. Lou they should be asking they should be telling to get the hell out, and they should be stopping it, local Law Enforcement and leadership in the cities. And if the Justice Departments going to investigate officers on the scene trying to establish law and order, you would think they might just want to investigate these organizations that are carrying out all of this violence. And its obviously an orchestrated effort to destroy federal property. Their aims are a lot larger than seattle or portland. Oh, absolutely, lou. Youre absolutely spot on. And here, look, if local Law Enforcement, if they would unhandcuff local are Law Enforcement and let them do what they know how to do, this would end overnight. But its the mayor and the local leadership in portland that is handcuffing them. Thats why this violence is continuing. And, hugh are, its a matter of time lou, its a matter of time. Weve already had several agents injured. Were going to see someone seriously hurt, and ill tell you what, the mayor and local leadership are going to have to answer for that. Lou are you satisfied with your rules of engagement with these mobs in because we dont want any of those we dont want anyone hurt, but we sure dont want those Law Enforcement officers who are trying to preserve life and property to be injured. Are your rules of engagement Strong Enough to protect your force . Lou, on the federal side they are. Of ill give you an example. Just, i think it just happened today, again, local leadership told the Portland Police that they could not use less than lethal riot control devices any longer. The ones that we as a federal agency not only do i allow, but i authorize and support them to use every single day, and they are to safeguard that federal property and themselves. But its outlandish e. The tools are being taken away from local Law Enforcement to do their job with. It its unbelievable, lou. Lou yeah. Well, there should be a Justice Department investigate of the City Government of seattle, without question, and portland. Its outrageous, the risks that they are raising for those Law Enforcement officers and for the community. Outrageous. I dont understand why the people of portland and seattle pulse up with this nonsense put up with this nonsense, because its not a game. As you point out. They were taking notes about what trump and flynn were saying. Of course, they were saying innocent things. They went in there under false pretensions, abused their trust. And then we get documents last week, lou, that showed strzok wanted to do the same thing at the trump white house. Go in there under the false pretensions of fbi e counterintelligence briefings to spy on trump. Nothing like this has ever happened in american history. The president is being charitable to barack obama. Obama makes Richard Nixon look like a piker when it comes to targeting his political enemies. Lou and look at who has said that theyre not going to reach to the obama white house, will not be interested in talking with president obama or Vice President biden. The attorney general has said that, the chair of the Judiciary Committee in the senate has said that. I mean, thats outrageous, that they would not reach as far as the facts take them. Expect facts right now and the facts right now are pointing in that direction, i think, with bright red are, blinking lights. Theres that famous january 5th, 2017, meeting, its an ini famous meeting in the oval office where they talked about the dossier, the logan act, general flynn being innocent, yet they all went to spy on, harass President Trump and, obviously, target general flynn. According to one report, at least 70 colleges didnt report that type of grant activity from the chinese. We want the details. Were suing for the info. Texas a m has got a campus in qatar, and they wont give us any details about the gift that seemingly e resulted in that campus being sent to that terroristsupporting country. Weve got a president whos starting to move these numbers, and weve got a senate that wont, basically the campaign committee, Mitch Mcconnell and the boys, the leadership have told the president told automatic senators not to run all the senators not to run with this president , attach themselves to his coat tails. Are you [laughter] what is your thinking on that counsel and that advice . Another mistake by Mitch Mcconnell. Look, the president s Approval Rating is going on the way up because people approve of the job hes doing both on the economy and his response to the lawlessness on the streets. I think theres another thing going on, lou, and that is the social desirability bias, thats what the pollsters call it. Trump has always performed less well in the polls than he does in the election because some people think that the desirable answer is not to say youre it voting for voting for trump. In addition to the fact that more people approve, hes going to have an even bigger boost on election day because of those people who are not telling the pollsters they are trump voters or will be trump voters. Plus theres the enthusiasm gap. I think this looks great for the president. Lou and you, obviously, are a strong trump supporter. You were considered for a number of posts. Tell us where you are in the race, the primary race for the Senate Running against a Mitch Mcconnelldesignated candidate. An establishment candidate if ever there were one. Well yeah. Well, were leading in the polls, but its only a singledigit lead. And as you mention ld, Mitch Mcconnell has come in to try to interfere in the race and lift up the rino opponent and try to propel him across the finish hine ahead of me. Weve seen this so many times where mcconnell interferes whenever a conservative is leading in the polls. I think he should just let kansas republicans decide for themselves and then put that money behind the winner instead of attacking a republican. Hes hurting the republican cause not just in kansas, but nationally by attacking republicans in primaries. Lou so how aggressively are you campaigning . How much effort are you putting into this race . Because those who criticize you, as you know, for not giving it, you know, not spending 24 hours a day on the trail [laughter] in a previous election. You, as your producers can tell you, we had to squeeze this interview in because i am literally crisscrossing the state and hopping into a vehicle right after we get off the air to get to the southeast corner of the state in record time. Were going from dawn until dusk, its actually way past dusk on most nights. Its just stunning to me what we have put up with from those two, the department of justice and the fbi. I want to turn to mark esper. As you point out, here is the man who has had a number of very public conflicts with this president. John heighten, the vice chair, the general who called this president im not even going to repeat what he said, but it was a word that, if i were president , he would be with fired and whatever else i could do. Its outrageous, what is happening in that department of defense. Esper needs to go, dont you think . Well, i, i believe secretary esper has done a huge disservice to the president and not just to the president , lou, but to the men and women who put on the uniform. By not supporting the commander in chief who hired him in the first place. I support the president who he decides to surround himself with, and in this case im as disappointed as you are that secretary esper has not respected the man who gave him the opportunity to have a lifetime to serve not just him as president , but to serve this country in one of the most important positions in this administration. Lou and hes had a public conflict with the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, the vice chair, calling him using a word that i just cant believe. Im just not going to repeat it and carry that water. Buts this is pretty disgusting, what were seeing from the uppermost ranks of the joint chiefs and from the secretary. I mean, theres something in the water over there. And they need to get their heads on straight, and i think the only way you do that is give them a very long time to contemplate it as civilians. What do you think . Well, theres no doubt about it that the president has paid attention to these types of activities from secretary esper and others. I respect this president , hes the best leader in my lifetime lou do you think we ought to fire them . Do you think we ought to fire them . I think thats, lou, thats up to the president. They started running a new tv ad targeting the religious right titled trump using us. Well, well, well. The masses of evangelical voters dont care about the president s e tweets or his temperament, they care about his e accomplishments, and hes got a long list of those accomplishments. 200 federal judges, conservatives, appointed to the court. Record prolife legislation initiatives. Record proreligious liberty initiatives as well. The 206 election was about 2016 election was about promises, 2020 is about a accomplishments, and thats why evangelicals are going to vote en masse for donald j. Trump. Lou well, i love your challenge to those folks. It turns out a number of these groups are just hissing money for themselves raising money for themselves. Theyre sort of passing it back and forth amongst themselves, these antitrump groups. That apparently works well for them, and it, its incredible, what were putting up with. And to see the way the senate is operating. Youve got very good, strong candidates but not to the liking of Mitch Mcconnell. Theyre too conservative, theyre not reliable for him like, you know, john thune and a few of these other folks. Its a shame to see it. You would like to see this president , every one of these senators should be standing up for him. I really believe that Mitch Mcconnell is running this time hes doing a paul ryan. Hes about to lose the senate because of this ridiculous attitude of his. Well, just remember, lou, President Trump won without them in 2016, hes going to win without them in 2020.
