Lets get straight to it linda and talk what about were seeing in the markets weve got retailers reporting here, of course, the bar has been lowered. So companies have been, you know, doing a little bit better than expected but those expectations have really, you know, been taken down. Yeah it is great to have a low bar to be tiebl pass over. I think retail sales should be good this, you know, we should hear very good this week from retail sales and expect it to continue. You look how strong automobile sales have been and how sales and these are big ticket items. As long as consumers believes that theyll be stimulus coming their way, and that the job situation can get better, it should be really fine this week for retail. Thats the key, of course, right will there be more surplus everybody is waiting on that. Also waiting to hear what we hear from Companies Hit particularly hard in this quarter as a result of the pandemic. Where we go from here. As were looking at this recovery right now, it does look to be v shape. But what potentially could derail us here . I think the biggest question is jobs. Clearly, theres so much stimulus out there so much liquidity thats just very, very bullish for spend by consumers and for the market. But we really need that second bit to come in which is job growth, and we need to see that unemployment level come down. And thats where its thats where were flying into the uncertainty now in next number of months and really need to see things turn around and virus has to help us with that. You know freedom to get out, of course, the schools opening and people ability to get their children to school so they can go out to go to work if they need to. Of course were watching the conventions keeking off today. And were also thinking about the election. Mitch, wall street journal had a really interesting piece saying that trade reverse bracing for volatility that comes along with this. Yeah. The fact of the matter is, i think that the market has gone up. And market has ignored so much of the noise that i think as we get closer to the election and uncertainty regarding what policy changes could come, if there was a bidenharris ticket, i think thats whats starting to get the market a little bit and curious to hear about what linda thinks about now and the election. Linda go ahead. Please. Most important thing is, the uncertainty that would come in we dont who our president is, the day after. But everybody is talking about it. I just have a hard time believing that the market is not pricing in what everybody is talking about. Were all worried about uncertainty tightening of the race here what will be a biden platform and biden platform if he should win but you have to just weigh that against all of the stimulus that is out there and if a new president into a u shaped recovery, but takes a little bit longer here than a v in economic part of it. Then maybe we dont need to worry about it as much even if we just grind around here in the markets for next number of months. And 2020 election that youre speaking of officially in full swing well say. The dnc is keeking off tonight investors certainly bracing for what could be this unprecedented period as tensions are heightening here. Were also watching the polls very closely. They do show biden in the lead linda. You know investors saying his choice of Kamala Harris maybe safest bet with respect to the markets for his ticket. Your thoughts on what were going hear from the democrats. Well, yeah i think biden just really wants to get elected i think hes going to be careful to let progressive voices have their speeches maybe early on this week and try to really sound more moderate with his pick being more moderate he wants to get in there and win. And i think well be hearing a lot about 2,000 and market was quite uncertain right after that period of time until we really decided who the president was. If we remember going through that if question of that kind of volatility and markets move back i would call that a buying opportunity for all of the good that could come on the other side. Well you bring up a great point with a lot of investors out there that look at that market that seems hot at the levels that were watching. If you have new capitol to put to work linda. You know where do you think that investors should be focused when it comes to different sectorrings or how they should position themselves or maybe even take pause and see what happens with the election. Yeah. I think it would be great to have a balance in your portfolio. We love gross and tech stocks and biotech stocks as of as anybody else does, and the market is deserved by the earnings of the companies in question. But if youre truly a longterm investor, those cyclical yarrs of the marketplace that is financials which is a really important sector of the market has just been disrespected for several years now. Financials can really get going here, that can really broaden the marketplace. If youre a lot to investor look for High Quality Companies in the cyclical areas of the market tharkd do well in a economic recovery. Our central bank does not want it allow us to have a recession. Thats really bullish for some of these beatsen down areas of the market. Yeah and journal is pointing out that cyclicals are coming back and that is a positive sign. Talk about what were expected to see tonight this is a challenging situation for the democrats and they are first up here with a completely Virtual Convention question as we move into this, what is messaging going to be how do you cope that energy up to get people really to rally around the democrats . Well i think what theyre going to do is really hone in on some of the mistakes that trump has made but still keep a positive perspective. So youre going to hear a lot about 170,000 people dead. Youre going to hear a lot about some of the deals that trump is failed to get in materials of china and north korea. And iran, youre going talk about him alienating some of our allies around the world. But at the same time youre going to get an optimistic message. Youre going to hear people starting applying fact that democrats are the diverse party. The ones who are moving towards progress and a lot of years. So i think youre going get a real optimistic message thats going to be something where it shows wide tent everybody who from moderate republicans like john kasich all the way to people like Bernie Sanders. And i think that that is kind of the message that we are the party for america. The party that represents the most people in this country. Jackie stacey let me ask you this coronavirus certainly going to be in focus here. With respect to the administration, how it has handled this black swan event it is tough to say really that anybody else could have possibly handled it better. You know, the president is beginning to be in milwaukee today Vice President pence is going on wednesday. Theyre really sort of doing a counterattack here as the convention gets going. Right. So were running online digital ads and key areas and this is going to be our beggest Digital Media push ever. Were going to be talking about our accomplishments, Trump Administration has made amazing strides on behalf of americans and before coronavirus we have a recordbreaking economy. And lowest unemployment numbers for every demographic including black americans, and hispanic americans and women so we have a lot of accomplishments we have a vshape recovery looking at an amazing come back. American comeback and these things are only possible under a jobs president like President Trump. Besides coronavirus is concerned no one could have done this any better. This isnt a textbook case of something that could have been foretold or foreseen. The bad actions by china actually exacerbated the situation. So President Trump cares about americans and hes done Everything Possible to make the recovery a real reality. To test every american, and to push forward the solutions for this. Which include a range of treatments and a social distance and wearing of patriotic masks. So we are excited about this president and what hes den and were so happy to be able to showcase the difference between the democrats and republicans. Specifically trump republicans and what were going to do moving forward with four more years. Jackie a new cnn poll shows that biden ahead of President Trump but margin narrowing a bit 50 of voters saying they would vote for biden 46 said they would volt for the president. The survey a also showing biden losing steam with states with impact on Electoral College thats really important in 15 Battle Ground states biden has just a 1 point lead so jason respond to that. Because, you know, everyone pointing to polls they will get tighter as we get closer to voting day. You know, but when you look at the Electoral College and how this is mapping out, you know the president dungts seem like hes in bad shape. Well i think hes in bad shape for incumbent never should have behind that way. So i think that it is good news for joe biden we all knew this thing was going to be narrow i always tell people that polls are just the snapshot of time so dont pay too much attention to them this is a close election but joe biden has message, has the diverse ticket, people are excited and people are energized around the country. So i think it is really going to lift him to victory but well see as we move for forward. I never tell people to Pay Attention to polls because polls as we saw in 2016 things turned out another way so i think we need to move forward have an energized campaign, and it will drive us to victory.
