View Comments Flour Bluff ISD announced the winners of the district's elementary and secondary Teacher of the Year awards Thursday. Fifth-grade teacher Jeana Banta from Flour Bluff Intermediate and math teacher Mary Keyes from Flour Bluff High School were surprised by FBISD administrators and members of the Teacher of the Year Selection Committee when they came to their classrooms to inform them they were selected. Keyes has been in education for 35 years and started out as a paraprofessional. She has been a teacher for 25 years. “I care about my students and do my best to bring out their best," Keyes said.
