There are growing concerns by GP practice managers that some staff may refuse to work until they receive the Covid-19 jab. Practice manager Laura O’Brien, from the Hampson Surgery in Artane, north Dublin, said she believed the HSE had prioritised who it felt were “front-facing” staff for vaccines. But that has meant some administration staff, practice managers and cleaners, among others, have not received inoculation appointments. Ms O’Brien said staff, aside from GPs and nurses, would be working at vaccine clinics across Ireland from Monday. “I don’t want to let my patients and colleagues down, however by working for a year like this, putting myself at risk, I have to put myself first,” Ms O’Brien said.
