(Canada Border Services Agency handout photo) A Federal Court judge has rejected a request from gun owners to temporarily suspend the Liberal cabinet’s controversial ban of assault-style rifles until a court case on the prohibition comes to a final ruling in the case. The decision released today by Federal Court Associate Chief Justice Jocelyn Gagné means the hearings will begin again, to a final ruling, after several of the gun owners and firearm businesses sought a suspension of the prohibition until a court ruling on its legality.
