CITY LEADERS SAY E TH HOMELESS WILL GET PLENTYF O NOTICE WHEN IT'S TIME TO LEAVE.. a federal court ruling now allows the city of santa cruz to go in and clear the homeless camp at the benchlands in san lorenzo park.. but city leaders say there is no immediate plans to remove the homeless until alternative housing can be found.. (:50 we will ovpride ample notice :53 once those plans are in place :56.. :58e w want the folks who are camping there to be able to land in another location and we're not que itready to make that move yet :04) the injuntion was issu ed against the city back in january.. at the peak ofhe t covid pandemic when the vaccine was in sho rt supply.. dispersing the homeless posed a health risk according to meholess advocates.. but tuesdaa y federal judge ruled that is no longer the case.. and lifted the injunction.. the city must act before the rains come ..
