Richland Police Department officials released few additional details in the disappearance of Richland Fire Chief Brandon Weems, but suggested he may be on medical leave following the incident. Officials would not give details about the circumstance of the disappearance including where Weems was found, if he had been there the whole time, whether he was hospitalized Thursday and if he would be on leave. When Weems was found, he was suffering from dehydration, according to Richland police spokesperson Allison Clark. Richland Mayor Pat Sullivan said it's too early to know if Weems will be placed on leave, adding that they are giving the family space to adjust to everything that happened.
