Dan Whelan A mixed-use scheme featuring apartments and a medical centre forms the final part of the Blacon Parade project in Chester, led by housing association Sanctuary Group and Cheshire West & Chester Council. The scheme, designed by Liverpool-based architect Brock Carmichael, features a ground floor GP surgery and 16 affordable apartments on the upper floors of the three-storey block. Work is underway and is expected to be completed by spring 2022. First mooted in 2012, earlier phases of the £19m Blacon Parade included the construction of 26 homes, a 36-unit sheltered housing scheme, the refurbishment of several shops, and the 10,000 sq ft Parade Enterprise Office Centre, which comprises a library, community centre and offices.
