Chico Fire Battalion Chief, James Lucanic, said they received a report around 10:46 a.m. about a hiker who fell into the water. Lucanic said the hiker fell from an embankment and landed in a waterway just below Bear Hole in Upper Bidwell Park. The hiker’s phone fell in the water with him, however, he was still able to call 911.
