(WCSC) - Charleston Police say a drunk driver traveling the wrong direction on I-526 struck a tanker, leading to a gas leak that closed the interstate for hours. Police spokesperson Karen Nix confirmed the driver has been arrested and will face a charge of driving under the influence. The person’s identity has not yet been released. .@CharlestonPD confirm the crash on I-526 was caused by a drunk driver going the wrong way on the interstate and hit the tractor trailer.
