First Commonwealth Bank’s Unity branch will reopen at 9 a.m. Wednesday, ending a temporary closure caused when an SUV crashed into the building early Friday evening. No injuries were reported in the wreck that occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. along Route 30 at Sharky’s Drive. Brian Schultheis, chief of the responding Lloydsville Volunteer Fire Department, said the westbound SUV swerved off the highway, went over a curb and crashed into the front of the building. The man driving the SUV was checked by medics at the scene and indicated he didn’t want treatment, while two employees who were inside the building safely left by an alternate exit, according to Schultheis.
