Gauhati University has about 5,000 post-graduate students, while 350 colleges under GU have over 2.5 lakh students Guwahati: Giving respite to about 3 lakh students, the Gauhati University (GU) on Friday announced that for the first time in its history, all its examinations will be conducted via open-book system in the online mode only in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases. Under the open-boo k system, students will be able to refer books, notes and other study materials to answer the questions. According to the latest notification issued by the university’s registrar, Hemanta Kumar Nath, post-graduate examinations will begin from June 1 and will be completed by June 15 while undergraduate exams will start from the second week of June.
