Former royal chef claims he once mistook Prince Philip for the 'palace gardener'

When it comes to the Royal Family, we're used to seeing them dressed to the nines, in suits and gowns, attending banquets, balls and other important events.
But it seems in the privacy of their own palaces, their outfits aren't always as glamorous as you might expect.
According to a former Buckingham Palace chef, Prince Philip would often walk around wearing "tatty old clothes".
Darren McGrady, who cooked for The Queen and her family for 11 years, has previously shared a number of royal food secrets from the palace kitchens - including how he would make fat free meals for Princess Diana.
