FORT NELSON, B.C. – Fort Nelson Fire Chief James Childs was recently recognized for his 25 years of service with the British Columbia Long Service Medal.
Childs has served Fort Nelson and the Northern Rockies for 25 years, working his way up through the Fire department’s ranks to his current position as Fire Chief. The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality thanks Chief Childs for his dedication to the region.
New additions to fire rescue fleet
Engines two and three have been replaced at the Northern Rockies Fire Rescue after a 2015 Fire Underwriters Survey revealed that the apparatus needed to meet grade standards to maintain existing community fire insurance ratings.
