The Factories Corporation of Jamaica (FCJ) indicates that four new factories are set for delivery at the Garmex Freezone, which is being redeveloped and expanded, by July 2021. Ground was broken in May 2020 for the first of a two-phase expansion project, which targets increased demand for production space. Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Everald Warmington, provided an update on the project in his contribution to the 2021/22 Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives last week.
