FOUR new electric vehicle charge points go live this spring in three towns

NEW electric vehicle charge points are set to be switched on this spring, Somerset West and Taunton Council has announced.
The council has teamed up with electirc vehicle charge point supplier InstVolt to install the charging stations at car parks at Deane House and Blackbrook Sports Centre, in Taunton; Exmoor House in Dulverton; and Alexandra Road in Minehead.
Outlined as a priority action in the council's Carbon Neutrality and Climate Resilience Action Plan, the project marks the start of a ten-year plan to roll-out electric vehicle charging infrastructure for the Somerset West and Taunton area.
It supports the transition away from fossil-fuelled vehicles with the potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions, helping the district towards meeting its carbon neutrality target by 2030.
