Also he would not say specifically if hes supported the fourday work week or 40 more pay. You guys saved the automobile industry. Made a lot of sacrifices, gave up a lot. The companies were in trouble. Now theyre doing incredibly well. Guess what . You should be doing incredibly well, too. Well, the uaw was not has not at the moment endorsed President Joe Biden. Those on the picket lines had a message for the president about his force transitioned to Electric Vehicles. Talk all day about researching all of that. Basically the consumer said we dont want a small car. What happens is the average age of the car part went from 11 to 12. 2 years. Consumers wont buy something they dont want. As long as the uaw is on strike, theres more options today than in 07, 08 and 09. They can go to nissan. They can go to hyundai. They can go a lot of places. Number 2, i think, charles, this has grown into a strong polarization between the president of the uaw that was just recently elected and made some outrageous commitments. Not only a 46 wage increase. And also im going to get you 40 hours pay for 32 hour week. I dont know how you build a car with nobody in the factory and a pension program. That is impossible to do. Lets face it. Ford has the largest number of uaw worker theres and a single benefit that their representative has been in place for a while. The other two, g. M. And stellantis, those are new representatives under this new regime that has broken with a lot of tradition, charles. So this is really concerning to me. For every one uaw worker, theres ten on a the supply side. We could see 1. 5 Million People out of work let alone theres a dealership in every community. People arent going to buy these cars because theyre not sure what they will get. Salesmen will be late. Technicians wont work. This has a compounding impact. I watched your show earlier to a very fragile economy today, charles. Charles it is, absolutely. You brought up a point here. President obama and President Biden have agendas that have nothing to do with the economy. The cafe standards, those are need economies. So whenever an Automobile Company has to have a fleet, they have to have a certain average mile per hour. In the past, they would make small cars or cars made with plastic instead of steel, right . So they can go further. Yeah, they met the standards but you were driving an unsafe care because of the sort of Climate Thing that they both worshipped. So its not economics. You cant argue with a family wanting to keep up with inflation. 500 a week, the union the strike fund, that wont go very far. Youll spent 80 to full your tank to go to the picket line. These companies are pro firedable and the workers deserve a raise and solid retirement and willing to sacrifice to step up and take it. A historic day and strong support for these workers fighting for their families and fighting to raise wages as other works say hey, the companies and the gap between the ceo pay and the average worker pay is too high. 272 to 1. Those are the real issues that we need to focus on. This is going to be a primary issue for voters. It does affect everyone. Not just in texas but every state in this country.
