Claiming that the ar Style Weapon was given to him by his father. Heres a look into the courthouse this morning. It was full of the victims Friends And Family. The judge addressed the teenage shooter telling him he faces not only life in prison but they Death Penalty. Minutes after the hearing was finished, Colt Gray was brought back into the courtroom for a correction by the judge, saying he would not face the Death Penalty. The team is being tried as an adult, the Supreme Court has banned the Death Penalty for juveniles in 2025. Call to remain composed during the hearing unlike his father. The 54yearold Colin gray visibly distressed, walking back and forth, appeared to be crying during the extent of his hearing. Hes facing involuntary manslaughter, seconddegree murder, and cruelty to children. These are the most severe charges ever filed over an alleged school shooter. The judge broke down the possible sentencing for grays charges. For a maximum total possible penalty for the charges you currently are facing of 180 years imprisonment. Police are questioning mother Colt Gray who has a criminal history. She was charged with Family Violence and Drug Possession after being found with and fentanyl, recently arrested this year for theft but not seemingly involved in this case. If you think crumley had not lived, if this individual had not lived, would they have been able to give the information that led to the culpability of the parents which could determine other parents to take action, safeguard weapons, protect innocent lives . Be a good parent, what your children. The adults around who failed him. I have a lot of questions about what the law is in this instance. What came up was there is culpability for a minor, but is there some sort of movement that you make projecting what you know onto that child . Where is the freedom in that . I do have some questions. Thats not making excuses for anyone. If were going to apply this law and its only applicable to shooter doesnt die what does it mean to make the people are hiding in plain sight. I want to make sure that if this plaza was been on the books and its being applied correctly, are there other cases we can look at now . Maybe we werent looking at them closely enough. Are there things that may be happened in parkland . Are there things that happened in other areas . The school in nashville. Are there areas where we maybe didnt pay enough attention because we didnt have someone who could articulate what was going on in terms of that shooter surviving . I have a lot of questions about how this is coming about. We have shooters who have survived in the past and it did not go down this road, and they were minors. I want to make sure that what we do is applied equally. That will help us take better steps in the future with something like this. Then if it looks like there is a problem in the home, police will maybe have more teeth legally to say we didnt act last time and we have the same set of circumstances, would be culpable for this, legally responsible. What can you do to help us prevent something from happening . I think there is a lot of meat on the bone with this. Its not just this case. Right questions. It was only recently, for example, that the Supreme Court ruled that someone had not been convicted of a felony but had Domestic Violence charges levied against them in, restraining orders and the like, prevented from being armed. That led to saving the life of their former wife. You are right that these rights are being explored in the context of the government reach. Constitutionally, Student Rights are more muted. We know on school campuses, lockers or school property. They have no constitutional right, the students, to privacy in the locker. As we are talking about this, someone said something, saw something, so they said something. The fbi responded, sheriff responded. They talked to the local Resource Offices according to a report, the school. They also say keep this get out of school for a while. Its summer so they are out anyway. The rights of individuals, the school, the home and the like, we dont want things to fall through the cracks. Want to be able to ascertain what is going on. The question is if a crime has not happened yet, do we still need to get in there so we prevent it . Its not Minority Report but it should be close. Certainly, this is the result of years of failure in dealing with this child. What he wound up doing, committing a heinous crime. Im a little skeptical about the Deterrent Value of charging the father. I think its great to charge the father as punishment because obviously he made some grievous mistakes which led to what happened here. I dont think that its going be helpful for us to look at this without, if it means that we dont focus on the mental Health Situation of kids like this kid. There is something deeply mentally wrong with this child. We need to figure this out. Its obviously turning into an epidemic in this country. We have to get to the bottom of it. Are giggly, that epidemic has less to decades, as reports of his childhood, the abuse clearly reported abuse clearly he has suffered would indeed have formed his brain to the point that he is a victim of massive trauma. Im going to defend the families who lost their children and loved ones. Thats the most tragic thing of all. Yes, it is unspeakable what we are hearing. Some of the reports from the Nextdoor Neighbor about the kids being locked outside in freezing cold weather, and essentially being abandoned and abused. Still not as tragic as a kid going into a school knowingly and murdering people. Its far more tragic for the families who lose their children, who lose their spouses because of someone like that. Every parent has to look at themselves and they have to critically look at their children and ask themselves is my child capable of this . If the answer is even a maybe, it is upon the parents. It is their responsibility to make sure they keep weapons out of their hands and get a mental Health Evaluation and treatment. We have to provide resources. God knows the schools have enough money postpandemic that they should be able to provide resources for mental Health Care for these kids. Especially since they cause at least some of the anxiety. I am not saying any of that led to this, but the money is there pick. So the money exacerbated . And we saw that in washington state. A grandmother called Law Enforcement, worried about her grandson. The Associated Press accuse vance of Calling Shootings a fact of life. J. D. Vance says School Shootings are a fact of life. We have to make this less common. We have to take lawabiding thats what Kamala Harris wants to do. We have to ask ourselves, we have been able to run and experience on this. You have some states with very strict Gun Laws, and you have some states where they dont have strict Gun Laws at all. To states with strict Gun Laws have a lot of School Shootings.
