Its been nearly three decades since the Teamsters Union has chosen not to endorse a candidate for the president ial election. As you mentioned, neither former President Trump nor Vice President harris will be getting their endorsement. The group polled its own members to get a sense of how they were feeling about the race with the majority 59 saying they were Backing Trump over met on monday with trump several months ago. Still the head of the teamsters said neither candidate could move the needle. Couldnt get solid commitments from either candidate which was a major factor in our decision as a general Executive Board not to endorse any candidate. They sat out of that clinton still won. The time before that, that they were essentially neutral was Jimmy Carter versus who was it, gerald ford. Jimmy carter one, too. It will be interesting, to your point, the headline is just the poll. Brian Reagan And Bush got the endorsement of teamsters. Steve so did nixon. Brian h. W. Bush back to 88. Gotten the sentiment. Here is why, too. Goes a long way with these oil workers. When you stop those pipelines, you stop The Union workers. He got President Biden got away with that because it was the first year of his first year of his presidency and he was on a bit of a roll after the inauguration. And No One really brought that thought about The Union workers that were told go home, even though we needed the xl pipeline. Took a poll the workers, the people that really do the job. They are good. I have had many of them work for me with the concrete stuff, you know the frames. They drive the trucks. So they just announced they are not going to support the democrats. They are going to remain neutral. You all remember during the trial, he actually stopped and did a meeting in the Press Conference on his way to the courtroom and the teamsters some of the members were out there. And i think that was just a showing. There is also a second component to this. The media and some of the pundits continue to make fun of the former president. Whenever he is asked how is he going to fix the economy he always talks about energy, energy, energy. These people know that energy impacts their job on the daytoday basis. It effects every single Tri Go back to the debate. Pundits that watch us from a. Heading to court. He stopped and met with the teamsters. This is the membership, this is not the leadership. But going back to the debate where we talked about the performance of the former president. When you go back and look at the independents and look at the dials. Their reaction to the debate versus the pundits and people that look at this for a living was totally different. Apparently they understood what he was saying when he was talking about the economy. Moderators she changed her mind and never asked about it. Nobody in that three panel of black journalists thought to follow up and ask why have you changed everything . What do you say to people who dont believe you really changed. Why is it it that Bernie Sanders says you are only doing it to get elected. No one has even asked her that we are now within 50 days, 44 is it 46 days until election. We still dont know the answer to those questions that frustrated people after the debate. Steve a number of people have asked her about the economy and prices and stuff like that. And she has answered. She is from a Middle Class family. So thats her answer. Brian im corrected. He thought theres a Homeless Guy right there up against the Palm Trees he drives over. The guy did not have the gun in his hand at that point. It was right next to him. We dont know exactly where the story goes from there. Thats all they revealed. But, nonetheless, apparently he didnt see the gun first. He saw what he thought was a Homeless Guy. Lawrence unbelievable. So we have been talking about the election and how it impacts you. We wanted to talk with some of the fracker workers. This i talked with some folks yesterday. They are part of the last process when it comes to fracking. And this is their view on the shift. Used to be democrats and now they are all for trump. And this is why, watch. I think in this whole region you have seen a major shift, you know, this is a hardworking steel mill environment. Right . I came from a hardworking Steel Mill Town with multiple generations of steelworks. The demographic in this whole region has shifted. Really its that hardworking class from this region that shifted.
