It is literally in the heart of downtown. It was forced to close down because of crime thats been tied to suspected Gang Members living there. A judge ended up dismissing most of the cases all over a technicality. The d. A. Says there is likely much more of these Gang Members involved, but it is really just hard to identify them. This is a nationwide problem, and the entire nation needs to understand that. Certainly Law Enforcement understands that. While the Texas Department of public safety, our state troopers, dps, are leading the charge on getting the Gang Database organized and getting a specific Tda Gang database organized and set up. And Texas Dps has seen its share of Tda Activity here in El Paso in the form of chases and smugglers and stash houses. As you just heard there, they are also starting that database to help them identify the Gang Members. Dps released a map of where Tda Activity has been documented or suspected. Check this out.
