Friends, family, Alliance mark Lingenfelter-Brill store closure
Special to The Alliance Review
Alliance Mayor Alan Andreani declared April 30 as “Lingenfelter-Brill Day,” marking the closure of the legendary retail shop that operated in the city for 82 years.
After about a month of sales of the shop’s final goods, owner Peggy Brill retired upon closure that day.
Brill was the wife of Keith Brill, who with his brother, Harold, ran the shop after his parents retired. John and Kay Brill founded what initially was a fur repair shop, but later became an outlet where fine furs were purchased both locally and by buyers around the country.
