Front line health workers begin receiving vaccinations in Hunterdon County Updated Dec 30, 2020; Hunterdon County’s Health Department today began providing Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccinations to emergency Medical Technicians and School Nurses, target groups authorized by the CDC as Category 1A, Hunterdon County Freeholder Board Deputy Director Susan J. Soloway announced. Soloway, the board’s health department liaison, reporting at a special meeting of the Freeholder Board said, “We have good news to report; This morning the County Health Department began administering vaccines to frontline medical workers, EMTs and School Nurses, as healthcare workers designated by the CDC as Category 1A. EMTs are often the first to arrive on-scene and provide emergency medical care to those in need and frequently have close contact with potential COVID-19 infected patients, which is why they have been placed in the category 1A. School nurses are medical workers that also have the potential for direct contact with COVID-19 cases and are classified category 1A.”
