Sheriff’s Sergeant Dominic Vaca died of his injuries after being shot during a pursuit in Yucca Valley Monday. A funeral service will be held for Sheriff’s Sergeant Dominic Vaca today. The funeral procession departed the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office at 6:45 a.m. and arrived at the Glen Helen Amphitheater, 2575 Glen Helen Parkway, in San Bernardino where the service will be held beginning at 10 a.m. The service is not open to the public, but will be live streamed at the link below. Sgt. Vaca was shot and killed in the line of duty on Monday (May 31), while pursuing a fleeing suspect in Yucca Valley. The suspect was also shot and killed during the pursuit.
