A Dalton dance school adored by generations of families has closed its doors after more than two decades. Dance Tazia regularly competed in the annual local carnivals and saw hundreds of children and adults alike step onto the dancefloor dressed in their finest sequins and taps over the years, ready to take on their friendly rivals while making memories with their friends. Dance teacher and Furness Academy year manager Sonya Biggins, 38, of Barrow, said: “Dance Tazia started in 2001 but the school had been running in Dalton since 1994 as part of Imperial School of Dancing. “I’ve been there from 1994, initially assisting, and then as a joint teacher from 2001.
