Garda officer being investigated on suspicion of drink driving after crashing into van in Cork city

A GARDA officer is currently being investigated on suspicion of drink driving after crashing into a van.
The Cork-based Sergeant was arrested following the accident in the county at 5.30am on Saturday morning.

His car collided with a van at Silversprings Hill on the northside of the city.
According to sources, the highly regarded officer, was socialising with colleagues and friends on Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday morning.
He decided to drive his car home and en-route the accident happened.
