GREATER NOIDA: Gautam Budh University (GBU) has over the last 10 days evacuated its hostels and sent back over 2,000 residential students who were asked to join the campus a few months ago for the regular classes.
The university campus now has around 10 international students of Buddhist Studies from Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand and Yemen waiting to leave for their respective countries. “The entire campus is empty now. The rest of the course will be conducted online,” GBU communications department informed.
The international students from Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand are mainly researchers in Buddhist Studies. “They had returned to campus a few months ago, but now they will have to return home because of the aggravated Covid-19 situation,” officials informed.
