By Doug Barrett Memorial Village rendering With little discussion – and no opposition – the Grand Forks council last night (Monday) approved a series of tax breaks for several large planned construction projects in the city. Developers are seeking financial incentives to renovate the St-John’s Block…Lyons Auto Redevelopment… Memorial Village…and the Beacon. All told the projects total well over $100 million dollars. The financial requests include both up front assistance through bond issuance and property tax exemptions. Mayor Brandon Bochenski thanked those who worked to push the projects through. “I want to thank the county and school board members…this carried unanimously is a real signal for the future of Grand Forks.”
