Baku, May 3, AZERTAC World Asthma Day is an annual event organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) to improve asthma awareness and care around the world. World Asthma Day is observed every year to raise awareness about the chronic disease and how it can be controlled with proper treatment. The day is celebrated on the first Tuesday of May every year, and is being observed today, 4 May. Asthma is a chronic lung disease that has a long-lasting effect on an individual. It causes difficulty in breathing due to the narrow airways in the body. In collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the World Asthma Day was founded by Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) in 1993. Later in 1998, it was observed in more than 35 countries.
