Glaswegians rally around those in need by donating 1600 Christmas baskets GLASWEGIANS have donated over 1600 Christmas baskets to those in need this festive season. Volunteer-led Glasgow Basket Brigade kicked off its collection and drop-off service yesterday, with kind helpers from Bike for Good delivering the first 50 baskets. The goods were collected from homes across the city via state-of-the-art electric cargo bikes and transported to Bellrock Close Scottish Veterans Residences - one of the initiative’s 22 drop-off hubs. The hubs, which opened yesterday and will close on December 19, will act as the drop-off points for those donating a basket. So far, Glasgow Basket Brigade has received 1620 basket donations from 576 members of the public, 380 baskets short of their 2000 target.
