Glendening presents first budget as Sheriff The Hawk Eye Des Moines County Sheriff's deputies are getting a technology upgrade if Sheriff Kevin Glendening gets his way. As long as the supervisors agree, all 17 patrol deputies plus the department's investigator will have body cameras starting in Fiscal Year 2022. "I think its a great thing, I really do." Sheriff Kevin Glendening said. Glendening was sworn in as Sheriff on Dec. 29 after being elected sheriff in November. While he may be just a few weeks into his term, Glendening has been handling the department's budget for the past three years. The sheriff's department operates on a budget of $3.3 million. $600,000 is received in revenue, $2.1 million comes from levies on all county residents and $200,000 comes from rural services.
