God made a promise to Simeon that he would not die until he had seen the Lord's Messiah. Simeon may have been an old man by the time Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple, where he served the Lord. He was so thankful to see God's promise before his eyes! The Bible tells of many promises from God. There are promises for each of us.
