The Delhi government's study to determine pollution sources in the city has been halted by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee Chairman (DPCC) Ashwani Kumar, according to the city's Environment Minister Gopal Rai. The study, which had an estimated cost of over Rs 12 crore, was approved by the Delhi Cabinet and an MoU was signed with IIT-Kanpur. However, Kumar expressed concerns about the expenses associated with the study and ordered the release of remaining funds to be stopped, effectively cancelling the study. Rai accused Kumar of endangering the lives of Delhi residents and demanded his suspension.
