Govt likely to go ahead with survey of backward classes | Bhubaneswar News

BHUBANESWAR: Despite the surge in Covid-19 cases in many districts, the state government is likely to go ahead with its plan to conduct a survey of the social and educational conditions of people belonging to the backward classes.
As the survey was scheduled to start from May 1, the training of enumerators and nodal officers is going on in full swing in the districts. Around 20,000 anganwadi workers will be involved as enumerators, while nearly 7,000 nodal officers will be appointed in gram panchayats (for rural areas) and wards (for urban areas) to supervise the survey.
“After the completion of the state-level training, we are now conducting the training of nodal officers and enumerators in different blocks. All arrangements are being made for the smooth conduct of the survey. Survey forms will be sent to the districts very soon,” said a senior government official.
