Altru Health System in Grand Forks is receiving doses of a recently approved vaccine for the coronavirus, and frontline employees there are expected to be vaccinated starting Wednesday.
According to Debbie Swanson, director of the Public Health Department, the state received an initial allotment of 6,825 doses of the vaccine made by biotech company Pfizer. Those doses will be followed by another 7,800 and 9,700 in the coming weeks. The state is also set to receive 13,000 doses manufactured by Moderna, should that vaccine receive U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval later this week.
