9 & 10 News May 6, 2021 Some Thursday morning rain showers kept some kids inside, but they still found a great way to get plenty of exercise. Elementary students at Grand Traverse Academy just hopped on their bikes for gym class. Through a partnership with Norte, the organization loaned 30 bikes to GTA to use this school year. Grand Traverse Academy Physical Education Teacher Jodi Kline says the kids started on “balance bikes” – just using their feet to get around. “A bunch of them started on balance bikes, which are the bikes without pedals – the foot pedals,” said Kline. “They just use their feet. And they would advance to the next step up (which) is pedal bikes.”
