BRATTLEBORO â As spring approaches, the frost leaves the ground, making gravel roads susceptible to muddy conditions. The Brattleboro Public Works Department publishes regular gravel reports this time of year as a daily guide to those roads; however, conditions can dramatically worsen within a matter of hours due to weather or traffic. According to the report released on Thursday, East Orchard Street and Ames Hill were listed in âfairâ condition. All other roads were listed in âgoodâ condition, but for Hamilton Road the town added âroughâ as a note of caution. The town classifies gravel roads into four categories: good, fair, poor and closed.
