Small campfires will soon be allowed again in Greater Napanee. Effective this Friday, April 30, Greater Napanee Emergency Services is downgrading the current “Total Burn Ban” to a “Partial Burn Ban” thanks to the damp spring weather. A “Partial Burn Ban” will allow residents to light and maintain a campfire of no more than 60 cm in width by 60 cm in height, used for cooking, warmth and/ or recreational enjoyment. Open-Air burning is only permitted two hours before sunset until two hours after sunrise. Beginning April 30, this means that fires can be started at 6:00 p.m. and must be extinguished no later than 8:00 a.m.
