Green lane proposed for local vaccine producers
MANILA, Philippines — The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) is urging the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to set up a green lane for firms planning to locally manufacture vaccines.
This was raised by ARTA director general Jeremiah Belgica during a meeting held last Friday with pharmaceutical firms.
During the meeting, Philippine Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association president Higinio Porte said there are firms that have expressed interest to put up a vaccine manufacturing facility in the country, but existing regulatory requirements make it difficult for them to do so.
