Greenville remembers law enforcement officers who died in line of duty

Greenville County law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty were remembered Tuesday in a memorial service at the Law Enforcement Center that recognizes the sacrifice they made while service local citizens.
Representatives from Greenville County Sheriff's Office, Greenville City Police Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol and family members of fallen officers were in attendance.
Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis said when he was officially sworn into office he studied and learned from those who came before him to prepare himself for the inevitable.
"What I learned October 20, 2020, when our beloved Sgt. Conley Jumper was tragically killed in line of duty is that no matter how much I try to prepare myself from moments like this, it was impossible to fully grasp the difficulties of losing a brother in blue," Lewis said.
