Hammersmith Bridge. Photo by Peter H. A Hammersmith ferry service is expected to be running from the end of the summer — run by Uber Boat, which is operated by Thames Clippers. The public service will shuttle pedestrians and cyclists across the river while Hammersmith Bridge is being repaired. Two piers will be located near to Queen Caroline Street in Hammersmith and the Hammersmith Bridge approach in Barnes. The ferry will carry at least 800 passengers per hour at peak times, with services running daily from 6am to 10pm. The service is expected to be particularly useful to local residents in Hammersmith and Barnes, who've been heavily impacted by the closure of the main direct route across the river for both neighbourhoods.
