Less than 24 hours after a road trip to West Branch Friday, the Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams were back at it Saturday, traveling to Anamosa. The Golden Hawk girls snapped a two game losing streak with a 55-37 victory over the Blue Raiders. It was Anamosa that came out of the gates firing, holding a 17-8 lead after one quarter. Mid-Prairie chipped away the rest of the half to pull within 22-19 at the break. After halftime adjustments, the Hawks went on a 19-5 run that lasted the entire third quarter to take a lead of 38-27 they would not give up the rest of the night, finishing the game by outscoring Anamosa 17-10 in the fourth. Maddie Nonnenmann led Mid-Prairie with 23 points, Myah Lugar added 13. With the win, the Golden Hawks are now 6-6.
