The money will go towards the Tri-Region Community-Based Benthos Biomonitoring Project. The project’s aim is to create a sustainable, citizen-based model of benthos biomonitoring in the Haliburton, Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes areas to identify early indicators of lake issues. The funding is part of 44 community-based projects set to receive $1.9 million through the Great Lakes Local Action Fund.
