Article content There is one new positive case of COVID-19 – a health-care worker who resides in Whitewater Region. This is the second health-care worker to test positive for COVID-19 in as many days, according to the Renfrew County and District Health Unit as the Dec. 18 case summary includes an outbreak in long-term care/retirement home. Public Health Ontario notes Renfrew’s Groves Park Lodge under long-term care facilities currently in outbreak. There have now been 27 health-care workers test positive for the virus, including 12 employed outside of Renfrew County and district, in addition to 159 community cases, 22 school cases (nine staff and 13 students) and three residents of long-term care/retirement homes. There are three active outbreaks – in the Whitewater Region Mennonite community, although it is coming to a close; Algonquin College Pembroke Campus and Groves Park Lodge.
