Three new cases and two probable cases of COVID-19 in the Dryden/Red Lake area. Medical officer of Health Dr Kit Young Hoon from the Northwestern Health Unit says there are a couple of reasons for declaring a case probable. “An individual with symptoms of COVID-19 and for whatever reason, we don’t have a good test result to say for certain whether they’ve had COVID-19 or not,” explains Young Hoon. “Either they’re not tested or the sample was lost and therefore the period of testing was past when we can get a good test result”. She says they conduct contact tracing and monitoring of self-isolation for all cases, both confirmed positive and probable positive, within the region.
