Heavier rain coming to northern Taiwan 04/28/2021 10:55 AM CNA file photo Taipei, April 28 (CNA) Heavy rain will hit northern Taiwan Wednesday night as northeasterly winds approach Taiwan, according to the latest forecast by the Central Weather Bureau (CWB). But the weather system is only expected to destabilize weather conditions until Thursday morning because it should pass over the island very quickly. Heavy showers and even thundershowers are possible in the northern half of Taiwan and the northeast overnight, while brief rain is forecast in mountainous regions in central and southern parts of the island, the CWB said. Due to the expected rainfall, temperature highs in northern Taiwan could fall 1-2 degrees Celsius from a day earlier to 23-25 degrees Wednesday.
