Right now, you still have to imagine the rush of color that comes with more than 150,000 flowers in bloom at Cheekwood Estate and Gardens, but there are hints. "Cheekwood in Bloom" is the annual spring festival at the 55-acre botanical garden and art museum in Nashville that opened Saturday and continues through April 11. The recent winter weather that gripped Nashville has delayed the blooms for the flowers that include more than 100,000 tulips in 33 varieties planted by Cheekwood gardeners and volunteers. The festival also has nearly 30,000 daffodils with nine varieties and many other flower types expected to bloom in the coming weeks.
